Natural Bug Repellent

April 15, 2017

Looking to keep bugs away without covering yourself and your home with harsh chemicals? Well, you are in the right place!

Natural and safe bug sprays are hard to come by these days. Something that will prevent bugs from biting your skin or infesting your home that isn't laden with harmful chemicals. This bug spray is not meant to kill insects, it is meant to ward them off. Best part is, it easy to make, chemical free and pet friendly! Here is what you'll need:

 Alternatives:

-Coconut oil is the carrier oil I used to dilute the essential oils, you can certainly use any mild oil you would like.

-Citronella is the best scent to deter bugs, but you can also try any strong citrus oil.

-Glass is best but if you would like to make a travel size spray, I'd go with a BPA free plastic spray bottle or roller bottle.

KARA'S
COOKING TIPS

#1

Recipes are never rules!

Use your judgment; if you've made it before and it has worked by shaking not stirring, try it! If the recipe says something will brown after 12 minutes in the oven and your's hasn't browned yet, leave it until you think its brown enough.

#2

Taste, taste, taste!

Any good chef will tell you to taste your food multiple times as you cook. Stick your spoon in and see if it tastes good. Is your food seasoned well? Can it use more salt or pepper? Would you like it if it were a bit sweeter? Everyone's palate is different, if you think it needs something; Go for it!

Remember

Its just food... so have some fun!
